The World Has an Anchovy Problem

As a main ingredient in fishmeal, an anchovy shortage will impact the global aquaculture industry, which sustains a $500-billion-a-year industry. Global production of anchovies has plunged as much as 40% from a year ago, and prices are up 80% over the same period to an all-time high.  If the industry’s fears are confirmed, salmon prices are likely to rise to an all-time high by 2027.
