U.S. Shipping Backups Shift to East Coast and Gulf Coast Ports

Backups are growing at gateways from Houston to New York as attempts to ship around West Coast bottlenecks swamp landside operations with containers and leave vessels waiting on the water. The surge in inbound cargo has strained storage capacity and the availability of cargo-handling equipment and empty boxes while slowing the ability of dockworkers and trucking companies to move shipments.  “It’s a horror show”.  Read more here.
